SITAC/Historical Context

25th March 2018, Altis Island, Mediterranean

As tensions continuously escalate between the Greek and US Governments, the US assures its long standing partners, that its position in the Mediterranean will be strengthened, in order to deter any possibly hostile activities. The Greeks have taken a policy of neutrality when it comes to the area of the Mediterranean, but has recently decided to redeploy its troops to the African theatre against recommendations from NATO. The US doesn't want its partners to actively weaken the Mediterranean sector, as Islands such as Altis, act as Forward Operating Bases for the combat missions within the Middle East. In the eyes of America, this is considered a betrayal and and act of sabotage in regards to the policy that NATO is set to uphold. Due to the Greeks referring to act on their own, the US perceives this as an act of hostilities, and won't allow partners as such to dictate terms and policy. At first, a diplomatic approach is set in motion, with the US ambassador to Greece, wanting Islands such as Stratis and Altis to be under American control, for a set period of time, in order to allow for further combat missions to be launched. The Greeks unanimously decided to decline such actions, and start redeploying forces to its islands, Altis in particular, without acknowledging the US. At the same time, the US naval task force in the Mediterranean, lands a small mechanized force on the island of Altis, under the cover of darkness. Both sides know how important the airport on the island is to supply and logistics, and are prepared to take it from one another by force.

Informations générales/General Informations

• Artillery is forbidden to shoot the enemy spawn upon game start
• HE Values have been edited for this mission, which includes the IFV's and Artillery Pieces
• Please be careful when towing the artillery pieces ( I'd recommend not exceeding 60kph)
• Rambo rules apply for the IFV's as they are integrated into the Alpha and Bravo Squads respectively
• Both Artillery teams have a resupply truck that has 2x HE Ammo boxes for each cannon to be resupplied once
• Long Range and Short Range radios have preset frequencies for both teams. If these dont work then please set your own
