South Zagoria - circa 2022
At 0400 hours local time, Russian Armed Forces launched a full-scale invasion of the sovereign Republic of Chernarus under the pretext of "ensuring regional stability" and "protecting ethnic Russian communities" in South Zagoria. Despite weeks of denials and misinformation campaigns, satellite imagery and SIGINT confirmed a rapid military buildup along the northern border in the lead-up to the attack.

The operation began with a coordinated barrage of cruise missile and drone strikes targeting Chernarussian air defenses, radar stations, and key communication hubs. Within hours, Mi-8 and Ka-52 helicopters crossed the border under heavy electronic warfare cover, inserting airborne elements deep behind the front lines.

Their primary objective: the town and airfield at Garmanda, a critical logistical and air mobility node nestled in the center of South Zagoria. Control of Garmanda would allow Russian forces to establish an airbridge for Il-76 transport aircraft, enabling rapid deployment of troops and armor to pressure Chernarus' eastern defenses and encircle the capital, Novigrad, from the rear.

Combat is underway. The Russian objective is clear: secure the Garmanda airfield within 24 hours to pave the way for a broader occupation of South Zagoria. Chernarus' fate may hinge on holding this ground.
